Asset Seizure Litigation

LLFW has represented money center commercial banks in litigation concerning attempts to seize the assets of judgment debtors, which are often foreign parties or sovereigns.  These matters often involve complex issues arising under the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act, the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act, and questions of international personal jurisdiction.  Such matters are often of a sensitive nature, and LLFW’s client is an innocent stakeholder seeking to resolve potential conflicting legal obligations to both judgment creditors and customers.  LLFW also represents financial institutions and other clients in more conventional asset seizure matters in the course of the enforcement of judgments.
