Antitrust Investigations

In recent years, LLFW has acquired substantial experience representing companies in connection with antitrust investigations conducted by the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice or by state Attorney General offices.  Those representations have been of companies that were themselves a subject of the investigation or that were otherwise involved in the events that gave rise to the investigation.  As an example, LLFW represented a major book publisher in concurrent antitrust investigations of e-book pricing brought by the U.S. Justice Department and by the Texas and Connecticut Attorney General offices.  As another example, in the Justice Department’s antitrust investigation of the then-proposed merger between AT&T and T-Mobile, LLFW represented a major investment banking firm that had served as a financial advisor to AT&T on the merger and that was subpoenaed by the Justice Department as part of its investigation.
